I locked my office door behind me as I walked in and kicked off my heels. What an unexpected afternoon. I thought to myself as I unbuttoned what was left of my silk blouse and tossed it into the waste basket. I flipped on the stero and soft classical music began to fill the office as I opened the door to the small closet in the back of my office. Many nights spent sleeping at my desk had prompted me to have the thing installed. If I was going to stay here all night working, I sure as hell wasn't going to look like it the next day. I pulled an emerald green shirt from its hanger and slid it on. The fabric rustled slightly, and I straightened it out while looking into the mirror on the back of the door. The fitted shirt wrapped itself around my curves gracefully. Although my outfit now looked suitable for Wolfram and Hart, I on the other hand, did not. I swept my hair up and wrapped it around, pinning it into place, then set to work getting all traces of blood off my lip and fixing my make up.

I pulled a long strand of Burkle's hair from underneath my nail as I sat down at my desk, and smirked. Dropping it on the floor, I pulled out some files and set to work. A few snapshots of Lindsey, tattooed and suspicious looking spilled out of a folder. I went through paper after paper of notes on him. Of course I had been trying to have him watched ever since I knew he was back. McDonald had mightily pissed of the SPs and that is not something you do and then waltz back into town. He had a reason to be here and I was aiming to find out what it was. Of course, he was making things a little difficult. He wasn't the easiest man to keep track of. But one thing was for certain. He had been frequenting the same bar, around the same time of day, quite a few nights a week.

Glancing at the clock on the wall, I realized I didn't have much time. I slipped my materials back into their respective folders, then locked them away. Grabbing my keys, I slipped back into my heels and exited the building.

My sleek car looked completely out of place, surrounded by the beat up auto's outside of the bar, but still I ventured in, took a seat at the bar, and ordered a scotch. I was taking my first sip as Lindsey opened the door and stepped inside.

I re-crossed my legs and took another drink as he approached the bar. "Fancy seeing you here cowboy." I said to him while watching the ice cubes in my glass."And here I was, just hoping for a nice quiet drink after work in my favorite..." I laughed without humor. "Ah I can't lie. This place is a dump."

I finally looked at him. "So are you going to tell me what exactly it is that you are doing in town?"

Headed out for my normal drink at the usual spot. Wasn’t the sort of place I used to go to out here but with having to be under hiding might as well go to some dump. Don’t get me wrong, the drinks were still good and I guess that’s all that mattered.

Heading in a head straight to the bar I look at the bar tender and nod as usual. He knows exactly what I want and begins to prepare it while I finally reach the bar. I was about to sit down when I heard a voice. "Fancy seeing you here cowboy." . I look over at her. Great just what I needed. Which of course she goes on. I just sigh and roll my eyes at her. “If this place is such a dump to you then why don’t you leave.” I snap back at her and take a sit.

"So are you going to tell me what exactly it is that you are doing in town?"

“Maybe you want to first tell me what your doing here?” I gave her a stern look. “Oh let me guess you had me followed didn’t you? That would be so typical of you.” I really didn’t need to deal with her riding up my ass right now. I wouldn’t be surprise if she tries to make some offer with me so she doesn’t tell the senior partners I’m back in town. Even if she did tell them it wouldn’t make a difference, I’m completely off their radar with these tattoos. No way for them to track me down. Unless Miss Lilah here continues to have me watch, which of course wouldn’t be that hard to get around.

The bar tender finally handed me my drink. I took the drink and took a few sips of it. “How long do I have to sit here with you? This really wasn’t on my agenda for tonight.”

My brow furrowed. He was kidding right? Like he didn't know what I was doing here. "Why do you think I am sitting around a dive like this? It's definitely not the atmoshpere..." I eyed the questionable mixed nut bowl in front of us. "You run off, which frankly I can deal with...cause I didn't really like you all that much...but the Senior Partners were definitely pissed off. They are ready to send you to some unknown hell dimension should they ever catch you, and here you breeze right back into town."

I downed some more of the alcohol in my glass, then continued on. "We're alike.. well aside from my much better taste in fashion, you wouldn't put yourself at risk like this unless you had a damn good reason. So Lindsey, inquiring minds want to know? What is it you have brewing in that well conditioned little head of yours?"
Lindsey: smirklawyer_lindsey on August 3rd, 2005 04:21 am (UTC)
I loved that look in her face her eyebrows furrowed. Could always tell I got on her nerves. "Never know. Could decide you want a change in atmosphere." I say in a level toned voice.

"Yea, I figured the Senior Partners would be pissed at me. Couldn't put that passed them, but I really don't have to worry about that now do I." I gave her a look that showed I meant business.

Of course she started to cut right to the chase "Well you see I heard about a old friend of ours being handed over the keys to the kingdom which were suppose to be mine." I say in a stern voice as I took a sip from my drink. I didn't like it one bit that Angel just got handed over Wolfram and Hart, what did he even do to deserve it.

"Let's just say I believe it's time for some payback." I say with a slight grin printed across my face.

"What do you mean you don't have to worry about that"? I mimicked him slightly as I said it.

Angel. Of course, I should have seen it sooner. Lindsey was the little golden boy who was supposed to run the company. So when the big guy got put in charge...I should have known the only thing that could make McDonald come out of hiding was his pride. Idiot.

Although I couldn't help but smile a bit with him as he talked about payback. That is what I was trying to do myself, after all.

"Look," I glanced around the dingey bar to make sure no one was listening. "I know it's new territory for us, but what would you say to joining forces on this one? I've already got a few ideas to set in motion..."
Lindsey: prodegies with lilahlawyer_lindsey on August 3rd, 2005 04:51 am (UTC)
Of course she was going to question me about why I didn't have to worry about the Senior Partners. "Let's just say that I've gotten some things taken care of. Think about it Lilah, don't you think they would've realized I was back in town already? Sure in other places I may be able to run for so long and be hidden under their radar but not here in LA." So maybe Lilah wasn't the brightest one around, not that I ever really thought she was.

Just then she started to look around like she was going to say something she didn't want others to hear. Great, I couldn't wait to hear whatever this was.

"I know it's new territory for us, but what would you say to joining forces on this one? I've already got a few ideas to set in motion..."

I blinked, did I just hear her right? Ok so I figured she probably was the happiest to be working under team Angel but still she wasn't one who'd like to make deals like this "You really expect me to buy into that. Don't get me wrong Lilah, the idea sounds rather nice but how do I know I can trust you when this is all done and over."
Lilah Morgan: No One Mourns The Wickedmorgan_lilah on August 3rd, 2005 04:57 am (UTC)
I looked at him curiously as he went on about "getting things taken care of", but decided to drop it for the moment. However interesting his new hiding technique may be, I had business to discuss.

"A couple months working for the good and plenties and you think I've gone all soft? Lindsey, you could never trust me. I could never trust you. That is how we work. Always have. Now you can go your way and I can go mine, but we can achieve maximum damage if we work together... isn't that what you want? To see the big guy fall hard?"
Lindsey: hmmlawyer_lindsey on August 3rd, 2005 05:14 am (UTC)
She did have a pretty good offer. "Well." I sat there and thought for a moment. "Ok so I never did trust you but now I don't trust you more then ever. You could always end up throwing me back at the Senior Partners at the end to get yourself a raise. Which reminds me , if I go in there end up bringing things back in order do you think they'll let me have my job back and not send me to some hell dimension."

That was part of my plan you know. Get in there and show them just how un CEO-like Angel was. They needed someone like me running that business, someone that wouldn't be using it to try and do good.

"Tell me about who else you have working for you." I said in a interested voice.
Lilah Morgan: The Wicked's Lives Are Lonelymorgan_lilah on August 3rd, 2005 05:23 am (UTC)
I smiled as I sucked on a piece of ice from my glass. "Yes, I could throw you back to the senior partners, but I also might not... That's the fun isn't it?" I grinned cheekily at him, he didn't seem as amused as I was. "Trust me, if things go as planned in taking down Angel, I won't need to turn you in to get a raise."

The bartender refilled my empty glass and I looked at Lindsey, I rolled my eyes in a disgusted sort of way and took another drink. "Of course they would take you back. You were their little golden boy weren't you? They took you back after you double crossed us that first time. Why not now?"

"Forget about who I have working for me at the moment." I said, all-business. "Before I even let you close to that information, I need to know that you and I are going to be on the same team. And I also need to know that any "rewards" you may get from the SP's, assuming we succeed, are split with yours truely. I am not going to put my neck on the line taking out Angel if you are just going to screw me over."
Lindseylawyer_lindsey on August 3rd, 2005 05:42 am (UTC)
"Guess that is the fun of it, not knowing whether or not I may get double crossed." I said with a fake smile and lifted up my glass as if I was saying cheers then drank some more of my drink.

"True, they'll be glad to get him out and the right people back in there. I wouldn't be surprised if he's already fucked up a lot of shit for them."

It was nice to know that she had confidence in the Senior Partners taking me back. I guess it was true, once you are someone's favourite they'd forgive you no matter what.

She wanted me to forget about who she has working for her, "that's not something I can just forget about at the moment. It would be nice to know who I might or might not be working with." I had to think about the splitting of the rewards for a moment. I didn't like that idea very much but I knew that my best shot of my plan working would be working with her, otherwise she'd be going against me to. "Ok fine, everything will be split."
Lilah Morgan: Look At Her She's Wickedmorgan_lilah on August 4th, 2005 04:00 am (UTC)
A smile spread across my face as he spoke. "Now that's what I like to hear. Bartender?" I motioned to our once again empty glasses and he moved to refill them.

"I'm sure you've heard of William the Bloody? Old pal of Angel's from back in the day? Well he's here now. Came in with the Slayer and her raggedy crew. I've spoken with him on more than one occasion and he is more than willing to do anything he can to send Angel over the edge. Also, I managed to dig up a little treat. One of Angelus's victims was recently brought back from the dead. And as it turns out, her ancestors did a bit of business with Wolfram and Hart. She is under contract with us, and should be very useful. I'm also looking into bringing Connor back into the game."

I watched him for a moment, looking for any signs of what he thought about my progress so far. I knew it was stupid to be looking for approval from Lindsey McDonald... but old habits die hard. I had spent so many years trying to outwit him, that I was a bit curious to see what he thought of my current plans.

"Alright, I showed you mine, now you show me yours. What have you got planned?"
Lindsey: bad asslawyer_lindsey on August 9th, 2005 11:20 pm (UTC)

I listened as she went on about her plans. I was a bit shocked at how well Lilah was getting the area's covered. Of course I wasn't going to admit being surprised at all with it, that just wouldn't be my style.

"William the Bloody. Always did want to meet him, heard so much about him in all those little files and book." I smirk "And it does seem like we were on the right track because you just happen to see that he was always part of my plan." I knew she wouldn't see that one coming.

"I've known for some time he was back and with a soul. Can't even imagine how Angel must be taking that one." Angel wasn't so special anymore now was he. "Well I figured that I was going to show Spike the way. The same way Angel was showed the way by a man named Doyle. Tell him he's the chosen champion send him on some missions and look who will be saving the day. I can't picture Angel liking that one, one bit. And then let's say that I found out a few things about Wolfram and Hart and little present I have waiting for Angel inside of there."

"I do say" I take a drink of our newly filled drinks "You and me will make quit the team here." I hold up my drink to have a toast with her.
Lilah Morgan: Look At Her She's Wickedmorgan_lilah on August 10th, 2005 05:29 pm (UTC)
I grinned as Lindsey began to divulge his plans to me. I nodded as I took a sip of my scotch. "Not too bad cowboy."

I raised my glass along side of his and we toasted to ourselves. I took a long hard drink, the alcohol burned as it went down. It felt good. After a very long time, things were finally starting to look good for Lilah Morgan again. Whoever would have thought that Lindsey McDonald would be the helping hand that I needed? I was as shocked as anyone.

Setting my glass on the counter, I stood up. "I think we are finished here, but I'll definately have to keep tabs on you." I smirked, "Well, more so than I was already doing. Obviously we can't meet at Wolfram and Hart, and" I eyed the surrounding bar. "This place is a bit seedy for me. What say you to coming by my apartment sometime next week? We can figure out where we want to go from here."
Lindsey: its good to be bad tattooslawyer_lindsey on August 12th, 2005 07:39 am (UTC)
Things were finally looking up for once. Sure, I knew my plan would work but now I was more sure then ever. With the two of us working side by side there is no way Angel can defeat us, he won't even see what's coming his way.

"I believe we are finished here." I stood up next to her looking her over. Felt like it had been forever since the two of us were somewhat working together on something. This almost did remind me of the good old days.

"I figured you wouldn't want to meet in this place." I say with a slight sigh. I just glance at her for a moment when she mentions her place. Not that I had anything against going there it would just be strange "Or better yet how about my place? Your place may still have Wolfram and Hart people lurking around. Mine well just trust me when I say we'd be protected at my place."
Lilah Morganmorgan_lilah on September 5th, 2005 03:39 am (UTC)
I nodded to him curtly, standing up off the barstool.

"Well then Mr. McDonald, I'll be seeing you." I dropped him a wink, before throwing some cash on the counter and leaving the dank bar.
